Train the Trainer - 2 day course

24th/25th June; 21st/22nd October
This 2-day course will enable delegates to deliver, evaluate and monitor in-house training.  It has been designed for all those who need to deliver in-house training, from IT to health and safety.  The course structure assumes already gained knowledge of your chosen subject.

Safe lifting

19th February; 29th April; 3rd July; 29th October

This half-day course covers the essential knowledge that is needed by employees whose duties involve Manual Handling Operations.  This course is designed to raise awareness of correct lifting techniques for persons who carry out manual handling activities at work.

Cost: £99 per person (plus VAT)

 

Manual Handling Risk Assessor

12th February; 14th May; 12th August; 20th November

This one-day course will enable you to: carry out manual handling risk assessments, devise practical solutions and provide staff with instruction on safe lifting techniques. A true investment!

Accident Investigation, Recording and Reporting

This one-day course is suitable for those wishing to learn how to carry out accident investigations in the workplace. You will learn in a step by step process how to gather and analyse information, how to identify risk control measures, and how to create and implement an action plan.

Practical Health and Safety for SMEs

29th January; 22nd April; 21st August

Aimed primarily at owners and managers of small companies, with minimal knowledge, who need to manage health and safety themselves.  This one-day course provides detailed information and checklists of your responsibilities plus an opportunity for practical learning.

Computer Work Station (DSE) Assessor Training

24th January; 3rd April; 8th July; 16th October

Learn how to assess computer workstations and avoid expensive civil claims for RSI, increase productivity and efficiency and comply with the Display Screen Equipment Regulations and control insurance costs.

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) Training

To be confirmed

Delegates will learn about why PAT testing is required, basic electrical principles, equipment types, practical testing, choosing a PAT tester, frequency of testing and management of PAT, there will be a short test and a practical assessment to allow delegates to demonstrate competence.

Fire Marshal/Warden Training
14th January; 12th March; 9th June; 5th September; 8th December
This ½ day course covers how fires start in the workplace, how to prevent them, evacuation procedures, the duties of the fire marshal/warden and the person in charge.  It also includes a practical exercise on how to put out a fire.

CoSHH Risk Assessor  
10th January; 20th May; 4th September
½ day CIEH Principles of CoSHH and ½ day of How to carry out a CoSHH Risk Assessment.  Combining an accredited course with a practical one with an experienced CoSHH risk assessor.
Cost: £199 per person (plus VAT)



CIEH Risk Assessment Principles and Practice

This hands-on course will help you to decide which activities are a significant risk and how to document them.  You will discuss reasonably practicable solutions and the position of HSE and the EHO in the simplification plan.
Cost: £220 per person (plus VAT) – includes registration

 

CIEH Intermediate Certificate in Supervising Health and Safety

6th – 8th February; 21st - 23rd July

This qualification will enable managers and supervisors to improve health and safety in their organisation, whatever its size or activity. This course covers the concept of health and safety, accidents / ill health in the workplace, legal provisions, health and safety organisation and management, supervising health and safety.

New IOSH Managing Safely

Split dates: 25th, 26th February and 3rd, 4th March

For managers and supervisors introducing managing Safely, assessing risks, controlling risks, understanding your responsibilities, identifying hazards, investigating accidents and incidents, measuring performance and protecting our environment.

Cost: £699 per person (plus VAT)

 

New IOSH Working Safely

This course provides a grounding in the essentials of health and safety giving an understanding of why we must ‘work safely’.  Working Safely introduces a completely new approach to health and safety training and offers all the basics in a high impact interactive package.  Introducing working safely, defining hazard and risk , identifying common hazards, improving safety performance and protecting our environment
