We have a variety of options to suit all industries and budgets, from a health and safety telephone advice line to a full health and safety manager package, or just a one-off specialist job.

All organisations are required by law* to have access/appoint a competent person(s). An appointed competent person may either be an internal (trained) employee, or an external advisor.

Depending on the nature and size of your business, will depend which route you take in appointing a competent person - we have many clients who are one-man bands, and also large clients who have internal safety advisors, but also employ us to back them up when needed.

Competent Person Support Package

What will you get?

RSP Safety will fulfil the role of ‘competent adviser’ for health and safety to enable you to meet the requirements of Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999;

You will be able to name RSP Safety as your adviser in your Health and Safety Policy and in all other relevant documentation;

RSP Safety will represent you, as your health and safety advisers, in meetings with the HSE and other statutory standards officers (meetings at client head office only – additional charges may be made if required to meet elsewhere);

RSP Safety will provide you with a certificate stating that we are the retained advisers for health and safety;

You will have access through us to our health and safety database of every health and safety Act, Regulation, Code of Practice, Guidance document from the HSE and other issuing bodies;

RSP Safety will alert you to any new statutes or regulations that would have a direct impact on your organisation;

Telephone and e-mail support 24/7. This support is restricted to advice only. Supporting documents will be sent if requested. Should the enquiry lead to more than 20 minutes of work by RSP Safety then this work will be invoiced accordingly.

Depending on your needs, employees, budget and whether you have any systems currently in place, will depend on the level of service you require. All our packages will be bespoke to you, working with you to achieve the best solution. As a guide, we have 3 levels outlined below, but are happy to discuss any solution.

Our 24-hour, 7 days a week health and safety help and advice line is perfect if you have a health and safety system in place, but need some reassurance to answer any questions you may have.

As well as all the benefits from number 1, we can work out a structure to come and carry out all of your risk assessments, spreading them across a time-frame and a budget that you and your staff are happy with.
