Testimonial from DSE Assessor Training

"I can highly recommend the DSE Assessment Training Course by RSP. This certificated course was thorough and well structured. The presentation was clear with plenty of opportunity for questions. Having reviewed the issues involved in computer use, we were then presented with work set-ups and then asked to critically review possible issues. Samples of equipment that are available for alternative computer set-ups were provided. This allowed participants to “play around with them.” A handy manual was provided and included sample assessment forms, scenarios of possible work situations, and a history of civil claims related to DSE. Everything was done to give you the necessary skills as well as forms for doing a DSE assessment in the workplace. The venue in Peterborough (in the Cathedral precint) was very easy to get to. It was great to be in a city center but away from all the hustle and bustle. There is an excellent support service provided that is valid for a year after taking the course. If you have any questions/problems, you can contact Diane. And she does respond!" Elizabeth Hughes, Time to Unwind

DSE Risk Assessments

What does the law require?

If your employees regularly use computers at work then you are required by the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations to assess their workstations and working routine to ensure they are not at risk from repetitive strain injuries (RSI) or other work related upper limb disorders.

We will show you ways to comply with the law, be proactive in identifying situations that may cause harm and enable staff to be in control of their workstations.

How can I comply?
We can carry out your DSE assessments. One of our qualified DSE Risk Assessors will visit your premises reviewing up to 16 staff, that you have selected as users under the DSE Regulations, and their work stations, per day.

Key areas of your assessment will include:

  • A presentation to your identified staff about the company's policy and procedures; including proactive monitoring for eye tests and reporting
  • Discussion on the importance of posture, work routines and the interaction between person and computer
  • Explanation of the purpose of self assessment
  • In-depth individual risk assessments on each member of staff and their work station covering posture; interaction with DSE; general well-being; a comprehensive review of chair, workstation, lighting, environment, peripherals, computer and work routines
  • Agreed individual action planning and follow-up activity
  • Detailed report with recommendations and an action plan
